Moped Records Update...

Since 2001, I have released eight independently produced albums. My goal has always been to produce the best work I can while being financially responsible. I would record and mix as much as possible at home. I would call in favours for mastering. I would rely heavily on the generosity of my musician friends to add their talents to whatever project I was working on. Even with all of the great help I received, projects were still expensive. My goal was to simply break even. Each new outing I would add more to the budget in hopes that it would push the project over the top. The dollars might be for a special guest, for more studio time, for more detailed artwork or for advertising. This made for an improved final product but did little to propel sales. That being said, I am quite proud of the albums I have made. However, recording projects have become harder and harder to justify.

I am excited to have a live album coming out this fall. It will not be released independently, which is a huge relief. I am looking forward to sharing this music with you.

As for Moped Records, this means goodbye. I feel very good about this decision. It is time to move on, but not before one last ridiculous over the top project! However, I’m going to need all the help I can get for this one, so stay tuned…
